Two Alternators to one Battery

Question:

My question is, If the main motor was running at the same time the 9.9 hp Mercury outboard was running, would there be a conflict between the alternator charging circuit and the charging circuit from the 9.9 hp outboard? I would appreciate an explanation as to why or why not this would work. Thank You,  Marty

Answer:

Hi Marty, both alternators are voltage regulated and should be able to run concurrently without any troubles are at your battery. Keep an eye on the voltage when you run both alternators and the voltage should NOT exceed 14.4 VDC. - Jeff
