[Music]  Tech talk I'm Jake one of the  technicians here at pys and today we  have a question from a fellow Boda that  says I just downloaded your free how to  choose solar guide thank you for the  great information it answered a lot of  my questions you're welcome on my  catalator 38 I have two no name 100 watt  panels in parallel with a MorningStar 25  amp controller I want to add a temporary  SunPower 100 watt flexible panel in  parallel however the sun power manual  does not recommend this do I need  another controller can I connect solar  panels from different manufacturers  together  unfortunately the answer to that is no  you cannot connect different solar  panels from different manufacturers of  different wattages even together even if  they are from the same manufacturer and  the reason that is is when you have  different wattages of panels they  potentially have different outputs of  voltage or amperage and you don't want  to be combining them same as you  wouldn't combine a 24 volt battery bank  and a 12 volt battery Bank so for  example we have two panels on our  website a 115 watt solgo panel and 116  watt solbium panel and even the  difference between those two panels if  we look at it the  max power voltage of the solgo 115 watt  panel is 20.5 volts and then comparing  to only one watt difference 116 watt  solbium panel the maximum power voltage  of those is 14.4 volts so we would want  not want to combine those and our  recommendation would definitely be to  use the how to choose solar guide to  choose a new controller to go with your  new panel thanks for watching voting  Tech talk today if you have any other  questions please send them through and  don't forget to check the YouTube for  answers to you or any of the other  questions that you may have  English (auto-generated)  Videolytics      Tools  Compare
