Wiring a House Battery Bank From the Middle?

Question:

I am installing a house bank of (6) electron 110 amp batteries all in a row. My friend is recommending that instead of pulling the positive wire from one end and negative from the other end, we take them off of the “middle” battery in order to keep the size of the connecting battery jumper wires smaller. I am aware that this is different from your thinking and conventional wisdom. Thoughts? Thanks, Philip

Answer:

Hi Philip,

Thanks for the reach out. We’ve never done a middle battery bank tap before. Our preference is for positive and negative connections to be at opposite ends. - Jeff
