We are installing a simple inverter. We do not have an AC system or AC ground, and will not hardwire AC. Where do we run the green ground wire to? Back to the negative battery bus, along with the negative back? Or all the way back to the engine? - Karin
The inverter chassis ground should be connected to your common negative distribution. The common negative distribution is a high amperage bus bar where all your main DC negatives are connected, including house and engine battery, DC panel negative, the engine negative, the chassis negative, and even the inverter negative.
