Uniflite 31 - Louisa

Uniflite 31

Bob was referred to PYS by his regular mechanic for the installation of a Garmin 546S chartplotter, with the added feature of a fuel flow sensor, on his Uniflite 31.

The installation, which involved integrating the Garmin GFS 10 fuel flow and Maretron N2K fuel level indicators with this chartplotter/sounder, proved to be more difficult and time-consuming than planned, but Bob says PYS persisted diligently and professionally until the work was completed to their satisfaction. “And they did it for the price they quoted at the beginning,” he says.

Jeff never gave the impression that it was too much work, remarks Bob. And on top of that, he's a nice guy.

Bob was particularly impressed that PYS followed up to make sure the equipment problems were solved. “Boats are frustrating and complex,” he states. “Even if you have the knowledge, you have to be diligent enough to keep going back until you’ve got it right.”

Q: I just read your PY article and wanted to ask about my Garmin 178C GPS Chartplotter. The depth display is blank or shows a very small value (~2 ft) even in deep water and the speed is sometimes off as well. Is this something that can be repaired?
