Secret Cove 58 - Indecision

Secret cove 58

Blane approached Pacific Yacht Systems about having some components added to his 58’ Secret Cove, Indecision. He keeps his boat on the Sunshine Coast, so after PYS scoped out the right solutions, they sent two marine electronic techs to work on his boat there.

PYS followed up a couple of times after they installed all the new components for my boat, says Blane, and they’re very good at returning my calls. I’m very happy with their service.

In addition to an Intellian I4 satellite entertainment system, PYS installed a Furuno weather station, which helps in navigation by measuring such variables as wind speed, barometric pressure, and temperature. A Matrix 2100 VHF/AIS radio allows Blane to determine his location, speed, course, and destination, and that of other vessels.

Blane says the techs worked very hard to install these components and were good at explaining how to use them.

Q: Can an iPad loaded with Navionics software be linked to a Raymarine autopilot system? We have a Raymarine autopilot - about 2007 - not sure of the model. We were thinking of getting a chartplotter but were recently impressed by a fellow boater's iPad/Navionics app. Is it possible to link the iPad to the autopilot?
