The Garmin GPSMAP 7412 Chartplotter

One of the most popular electonics in our booth at the Vancouver Boat Show this year was the Garmin GPSMAP 7412 chartplotter.  The 7412 packs a lot of options in its price range.  This 12-inch multi-touch widescreen display is fully network capable for Garmin Marine Network and NMEA 2000 plus NMEA 0183 support as well as GSD premium sonar and GCV scanning sonar modules.  The 7412 has advanced sailing and sail racing features including laylines, enhanced wind rose, heading and course-over-ground lines, true wind data fields and tide/current/time slider. The 10 Hz internal GPS updates position and heading 10 times per second and it includes built-in WiFi connectivity.  The 7412 also includes enhanced auto guide which searches through relevant charts to create a virtual pathway on the display to help you avoid low bridges, shallow water and other obstructions.
