Contessa 26 - One Across

Contessa 26 One Across

Jonathan’s first encounter with Pacific Yacht Systems occurred in Yaletown, when he saw one of the distinctive PYS service vehicles passing by. He knew his 26-foot Contessa, One Across, was in need of some work, so he contacted PYS after checking out their website.

The work PYS did was transformative for me and my boat, says Jonathan. Now I can rely on the system with absolute certainty.

In what turned out to be an extensive project, PYS touched every aspect of Jonathan’s boat: power, navigation and communication. With a “big picture” focus, PYS designed a complete system, with all the system components complementing each other. The project involved a complete rewiring of the house and engine batteries, alternator, charger and inverter, along with the installation and commissioning of an autopilot, AIS and a Garmin 541 chartplotter. “I was absolutely confident in everything PYS did,” states Jonathan. “Their work was very professional throughout.”

Jonathan wanted to sail offshore, so he took One Across around Vancouver Island solo and had no problems at all. Next destination: Hawaii!

Q: My alternator only works intermittently! At idle, it produces nothing and at full rpm it varies from nothing to full amperage. External regulator? Alternator? I don't know what the problem is. Any thoughts?
