November 1 -  On-line registration opens for Women’s Day at the 2018 Vancouver Boat Show.  Join us on Sunday, January 21, 2018 for a full day of boating seminars and guest speakers designed to educate and inspire.  Tickets are limited and will sell out fast, add November 1st to your calendar.

November 2 – Yaletown Brewing Co’s Martini Madness - Three guest bartenders will slamdown with their martini creations, the winner to be determined by your vote. There will also be a live DJ on site and a 50/50 cash prize. All proceeds to benefit Kids Help Phone. Drink Tickets are $10 at the door CASH ONLY, which includes 3 martinis (yes, you read that right!)  

November 16 – 18 – Clayoquot Oyster Festival – The format for the 21st annual event has changed a bit this year, the anchor events will be held at  some of Tofino’s best restaurants. Events include the Beautiful Mask and Oysters, Best Oyster Dish competition, Chef-Farmer Shuck N’ Slurp Relay, Tofino Costume Party and the 1909 Champagne and Pearls dinner.

November 21 – 22 – Boating BC Conference - Each November the recreational boating industry in British Columbia steps away from their busy lives to attend the annual Boating BC Conference. It’s an inspiring two days where people come to learn, connect and share ideas.


December 2016

Dec 3 – The Shipyards Christmas Festival – Shipbuilders’ Square, on the North Shore, is transformed into a winter wonderland with music, hot chocolate, crafts, Santa and the city tree light-up.  Also, Burrard Yacht Club’s Festival of Lights flotilla will cruise by around 6:00 p.m.

 Dec 4-9 – Carol Ships Parade of Lights – Taking place on the waters in and around downtown Vancouver, the Carol Ships Parade of Lights began over 50 years ago and has grown from 1 boat to over 50 boats with in excess of 100,000 lights.  See the detailed schedule here.

 Dec 8 – Christmas on Saltspring  -  You can cruise by the “Open Late” Shop & Social to pick up some gifts and then head over to the Legion for the 6th Annual Glowtini Contest.  To reward yourself for all that good work.

 Dec 21 – The 23rd Annual Winter Solstice Lantern Festival illuminates the darkest night of the year with lanterns, fire, singing, drumming, music and dancing.  Granville Island, Yaletown and Strathcona.

 Dec 31 – Cooper Boating New Year’s Flotilla – Ring in the New Year on this two day flotilla to Snug Cove on Bowen Island.  Then watch the English Bay Polar Bear Swim from the water.

November 18 – 19 – Clayoquot Oyster Festival – This year is the 20th anniversary of showcasing Tofino’s favourite bivalve.  It is held in conjunction with the area’s harvest when the oysters are at their plumpest. There is a costume party, oyster farm tours and a gala chefs competition.

November 17 – 19 – Pacific Marine Expo - Held annually at CenturyLink Field in Seattle, this is the largest commercial marine tradeshow on the westcoast, serving mariners from Alaska to California.  There are presentations on industry education, safety, regulatory matters and technological advances.  All mixed in with a Fisher of the Year contest, Fisher Poets and daily happy hours.

November 22 - 23 – Boating BC Conference – Once a year, the recreational boating industry in BC gets together to connect, learn and share ideas. 


It's Boat Show Season!

It's the new year and the boat show season is just around the corner starting with the Seattle Boat Show running from Jan. 25th to Feb. 3rd. This is the West Coast's Largest Boat Show featuring more than 1,000 recreational watercraft, seminars and the latest accessories indoors at CenturyLink Field, plus afloat on South Lake Union. Next up is the Vancouver International Boat Show that will be held at Granville Island and BC Place Stadium from Feb. 7th to Feb. 11th. More information can be found on their website.


Electrical 101 Presentation by Jeff Cote - Burrard Yacht Club

Are you a member of the Burrard Yacht Club? Jeff Cote is speaking on Wednesday, October 10th at 7:00 p.m. The topic is Electrical 101, just in time for winter boating!

Electrical 101 with Jeff Cote - Have you ever wondered if you are getting the maximum out of your batteries? Or if you really have to run your generator every day at anchor? Do you check your electrical wires for corrosion and chafing on a regular basis? It is not the most glamorous side of boating but it is a necessity and ignoring it only makes it more dangerous. Join us for an evening of no-nonsense, plain English Electrical 101. This presentation is designed for beginners, tech savvy and DIY experts alike.

6th Annual Mosquito Creek Boat Show

This year's boat show at the Mosquito Creek Marina in North Vancouver, is expected to draw over 2,000 attendees. The event runs from September 20th - 23rd (Thursday - Sunday) and tickets are only $12!

Boaters can check out some beautiful boats, talk to experts industry experts and have fun in a friendly setting. Attendees can also participate in the swap meet on Saturday, which is a new component this year. Finally, this is a great chance to meet the PYS team as we will have a booth at the event!

Royal Vancouver Yacht Club Safety Day

Join PYS at the Royal Van Yacht Club Jericho on Saturday April 14th from 9am-3pm for Safety Day!

PYS is proud to be a part of Safety Days at RVYC. We are one of the few vendors attending to promote boating safety. Being in the electrical industry, safety is the main component of our business; we will be happy to speak with you about how your boating experience can be the safest possible.

YES! Yacht Expo Seminars in Edmonton and Calgary

Jeff Cote of Pacific Yacht Systems will be presenting at the YES! Yacht Expo Seminars later this month.

The seminars run in Edmonton on Friday March 23rd and Saturday March 24th, and in Calgary on Sunday March 25th and Monday March 26th. Jeff will be presenting on Saturday 24th (Edmonton) and Sunday 25th (Calgary), come by and check it out!

There will also be an unveiling of several exciting new boats being built!

Cost: Simply bring a donation for the Edmonton Youth Emergency Shelter or the Calgary Food Bank
