9th Annual Richmond Maritime Festival

This celebration of Steveston's maritime heritage will be held at the Britannia Heritage Shipyard. It all kicks off on the evening of Friday, August 10th with live music, drumming and light refreshments.

Come back on Saturday and Sunday, August 10th and 11th, from 11:00am–6:00pm for full-scale festival fun for all ages. Enjoy food, music, artists, storytellers, dancers, drummers and more. But whatever you do, don’t forget to visit the bounty of beautiful wooden boats moored at the 190-metre dock. There will be exhibitors from the Vancouver Wooden Boat Society, Britannia Heritage Shipyard Society, Port Metro Vancouver, and many more!

2013 Vancouver International Boat Show

The annual Vancouver International Boat Show will be held at Granville Island and BC Place Stadium in 2013. The days for the Boat Show have also been changed. Instead of the show running Wednesday to Sunday, it will run from Thursday, February 7th to Monday, February 11th. The change was made to include the brand new holiday, Family day, on Monday the 11th. Some of the many exciting show features include a SailFest, Kids Zone, boating seminars, a wooden boat alley and free boat rides. A complete list can be found here. Silly Boat Regatta - Nanaimo, B.C.

On Sunday, July 15th, Coast Capital Savings and the Nanaimo Child Development Centre welcome you to take part in the 28th Annual Silly Boat Regatta in Nanaimo, B.C. at the Maffeo Sutton Park! You don't want to miss out on a spectacular day full of fun, camaraderie and of course, silly antics!

Race day festivities include boat building, music, performers, and free family activities from 8 am - 4 pm with Races beginning at 1 pm. This event is in support of the Nanaimo Child Development Centre, and all proceeds will be going towards supporting their activities. Visit the Silly Boat Regatta website for more information. Shelter Island Marina Day and Swap Meet

Want to spend your Saturday with other boating enthusiasts and participate in a swap meet? The Shelter Island Marina is holding their Marina Day and Swap Meet on Saturday, June 9th from 9AM - 3PM. Best of all, proceeds from the event will benefit the Steveston Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue (RCM-SAR), a volunteer organization dedicated to keeping our waters safe for boaters. Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup

Want a quick and fun way to help the environment? Do you hate seeing litter on our local beaches? This year, the annual Great Canadian Shore Cleanup is being held from September 15-23.

You can join thousands of others in taking action to address this important environmental issue. The 18th annual Shore Cleanup is a joint initiative by the Vancouver Aquarium and WWF-Canada, and the biggest turnout in event history is expected this year! You can join an existing cleanup as a Cleanup Participant, or lead a cleanup as a Site Coordinator in an area near you.

Join PYS at the Royal Van Yacht Club Jericho on Saturday April 14th from 9am-3pm for Safety Day!

PYS is proud to be a part of Safety Days at RVYC. We are one of the few vendors attending to promote boating safety. Being in the electrical industry, safety is the main component of our business; we will be happy to speak with you about how your boating experience can be the safest possible.

YES! Yacht Expo Seminars in Edmonton and Calgary

Jeff Cote of Pacific Yacht Systems will be presenting at the YES! Yacht Expo Seminars later this month.

The seminars run in Edmonton on Friday March 23rd and Saturday March 24th, and in Calgary on Sunday March 25th and Monday March 26th. Jeff will be presenting on Saturday 24th (Edmonton) and Sunday 25th (Calgary), come by and check it out!

There will also be an unveiling of several exciting new boats being built!

Cost: Simply bring a donation for the Edmonton Youth Emergency Shelter or the Calgary Food Bank
