From the helm: Port Browning

I decided to write a blog based around this photo because it's pretty stunning in my opinion. Plus, it features a Canada flag which seems appropriate since Canada Day was on Friday. The photo was taken several years ago when I was sailing with my family at Port Browning. The protected marina is located in a sheltered cove between North and South Pender Island and across from Saturna Island. Moorage at the Port Browning Marina includes use of garbage disposal, washroom/shower facilities, and the swimming pool!

Pender Island is one of the Southern Gulf Islands and is located in the Straight of Georgia. Pender has about 2,500 permanent residents, as well as a large seasonal population. Like many of the Southern Gulf Islands, Pender Island features farmland, forests, lakes, small mountains, as well as many coves and beaches. This makes Pender a great place for fishing, kayaking, hiking, wildlife viewing, and other outdoor activities.

Poets Cove Resort and Spa (formerly known as Bedwell Harbour Island Resort), is also located on South Pender.

Do you have anything to share about Port Browning and Pender Island?
