ACB 24 - Omerta

ACB 24 - Omerta

When Gerry decided to replace the chartplotter on his 24-foot ACB, Omerta, he asked the supplier to recommend a good marine electronics installer; he was directed to Pacific Yacht Systems.

PYS was of great assistance to me, states Gerry. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again or to recommend them to anyone else.

PYS first met with Gerry on his boat in Langley to go over the project, which also involved extending the radar tower by two feet. "The PYS technician did terrific work," he says. "He was tidy, efficient, polite, and enthusiastic...he got everything straight."

Gerry knew exactly what he wanted, and PYS worked with him to make sure their work met his expectations. "They did a great job," he says.

Q: I have a friend that is trying to get 12V from a 36V battery bank (i.e. he has six 6V batteries in series). He needs to get 12V for a heated vest (an accessory). Is there a diode or some contraption I could use after two batteries, and pull 12V from the bank? We would use one of the Newmar DC to DC converters, but they're out of his price range. Do you have any ideas?
